We also partner with people with lived experience in disability and mental health to bring a depth of perspective to our work. Our core team comprises Christine Thornton who is our Founder, Managing Director and Coach, and Orlaith Wixted who oversees our Operations and Leadership Development Functions. We utilise an agile business structure that enables us to bring in our leading consultants with specialised skill-sets in diversity & inclusion, finance, legal, and branding, in response to the individual needs of your organisation.

Christine Thornton,
Founder, Managing Director & Coach

Christine Thornton is an accomplished senior executive, consultant, and non-executive director with a remarkable track record spanning over 15 years in the non-profit, private, and public sectors. Recognised for her strategic vision and ability to lead transformational change, Christine’s expertise covers a myriad of areas, including strategy, innovation, business development, and change management.

By balancing results-driven strategy with a deeply human connection and care in how she supports clients to navigate the future, Christine is changing the landscape of business leadership.

With years of experience as a C-suite executive, Christine has worked with some of the biggest companies, building relationships and developing business in pursuit of strategic aims. Some of the companies and academic institutions Christine has worked with include Woolworths Group (formerly Masters Home Improvement), Coca-Cola Amatil, NAB, FGX, MGI Dobbyn Carafa, Monash University, University of Melbourne, La Trobe University, University of Queensland, NDIA/NDIS, Victorian WorkCover Authority, Department of Health VIC, Department of Families, Fairness and Housing VIC, Housing Choices Australia, Community Housing Limited, numerous not-for-profit organisations in the mental health, disability and family services sectors, Maddocks Law Firm, Property Institute Foundation, and more.

As an experienced executive and non-executive director, Christine has held responsibility for setting and meeting millions of dollars’ worth of budgetary and strategic targets. She brings this same experience to 3Minds, motivating and developing individuals, teams, and organisations to achieve and surpass key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets.

Christine has also been in the founder’s seat. Several years ago, she founded an international mental health app—one of the early players to secure venture capital funding and successfully launch on both Apple and Google app stores. The team built and scaled the platform, helping people connect with support globally. Then, like many start-ups, they faced the impossible headwinds brought on by COVID-19 and had to make the heartbreaking decision to close the business.

That experience taught Christine more about leadership, resilience, and the human side of entrepreneurship than any boardroom ever could. She brings that lived experience to every client she works with. Today, through 3Minds, Christine partners with organisations large and small—from global brands to grassroots changemakers—all united by a desire to do things differently and lead with purpose.
